TATA IPL 2026: RR vs LSG report - Not the result we hoped for in Jaipur
We went down by seven wickets against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in our 13th fixture of TATA IPL 2026.
Put in to bat first, the explosive opening duo of Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis once again came out firing on all cylinders. The pair dealt in boundaries from the outset, putting the Rajasthan bowlers under immense pressure during the powerplay.
By the end of six overs, the Super Giants had stormed to 83/0, with Marsh unbeaten on 31 off just 14 deliveries while Inglis raced away to 49* off 22 in a breathtaking display of strokeplay.
The duo eventually stitched together a commanding 109-run opening partnership before Inglis departed after a scintillating 60 off only 29 balls. Marsh, however, continued to anchor the innings brilliantly, finding support through handy contributions from the middle order, including skipper Rishabh Pant’s brisk 35 off 23 deliveries.
Bison carried the innings deep and looked set for a memorable century before falling in the final over for a sensational 96 off 57 balls, an innings studded with 11 fours and five sixes. His knock powered Lucknow Super Giants to a competitive 220/5, while also briefly earning him the Orange Cap with 558 runs in 13 matches.
In response, Rajasthan Royals got off to a solid start as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten through the powerplay, guiding the hosts to 71/0 after six overs.
Akash Singh broke the stand soon after by dismissing Jaiswal, but Vaibhav and Dhruv Jurel continued the charge with a crucial 105-run partnership that shifted the game decisively in Rajasthan’s favour. Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten half-century eventually guided the hosts home in 19.1 overs.
The Rishabh Pant-led side will now look to conclude the season on a high when we host PBKS in our final match of the season at Ekana on May 23.
