Akshat-Mukul-Naman story - Trio all set to live the IPL dream
The TATA IPL 2026 auction, held in December last year, saw the Lucknow Super Giants rope in six players for a total sum of INR 18.40 crores to complete the 25-member squad for the upcoming season.
Among these, three uncapped players, namely Mukul Choudhary, Akshat Raghuwanshi and Naman Tiwari, are raring to make it count in their first-ever appearance in the competition.
On that note, let’s have a sneak peek into how they fare ahead of our campaign’s curtain raiser against the Delhi Capitals on April 1.
Akshat Raghuwanshi (Batter)
The 22-year-old has slowly built a reputation as a dynamic run-scorer who thrives on quick acceleration. A natural stroke-maker, he excels in shifting momentum during the middle overs with his aggressive style of play and smart shot selection.
Notably, the right-handed batter scored a century for Madhya Pradesh against Meghalaya on his Ranji Trophy debut in 2022 while hitting a fifty in the subsequent match versus Kerala, playing a pivotal role in his team’s maiden Ranji Trophy glory.
Interestingly, he also has a T20 century to his name, when he smashed 105 off 45 balls in a Madhya Pradesh Premier League 2025 match, eventually concluding the tournament with 39 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 177.
Mukul Choudhary (Wicket-keeper)
A fearless young wicket-keeper batter, Mukul Choudhary, brings fresh energy to the middle order. Known for his clean ball-striking and sharp glovework, his ability to accelerate the innings and contribute behind the stumps makes him a valuable dual asset.
Still nascent in the format, the 21-year-old has adapted to the needs in some style, amassing 173 runs in five innings for Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, including two half-centuries.
Naman Tiwari (Bowler)
From a net bowler to a member of our 2026 squad, Naman Tiwari adds firepower to the bowling attack with his ability to consistently clock speeds of 145 kmph and above. The left-arm seamer’s raw pace and accuracy can trouble batters across phases.
He was a crucial part of India’s bowling unit in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024, where he bagged 12 wickets in six matches, including two four-wicket hauls. Furthermore, Naman claimed 19 wickets in 10 games in the recently-concluded Uttar Pradesh T20 league, making a strong case for a maiden IPL journey with the Lucknow Super Giants!
