Biography

Shahbaz Ahamad is a versatile left-handed all-rounder, born in Haryana, who has established himself as a dependable performer in Indian domestic and T20 cricket. Representing Bengal, the slow left-arm orthodox bowler and aggressive middle-order batter has consistently contributed with both bat and ball across formats.

A key figure in Bengal’s domestic setup, Shahbaz has amassed over 2,300 first-class runs and 140+ wickets, while also crossing 1,400 List A runs and claiming 68 wickets. His ability to influence games in both departments was highlighted by a 7/56 in the Ranji Trophy and a century during the 2025-26 season.

In the IPL, Shahbaz made his debut in 2020 and has since featured for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad before joining Lucknow Super Giants. He has accumulated 603 runs and 27 wickets in 63 matches.

He continued to contribute for LSG in IPL 2026, scoring 58 runs at a strike rate of 141.46 and picking up five wickets in five appearances, including a best of 2/30 against Chennai Super Kings.

Shahbaz has also represented India, making his ODI debut in 2022 and being part of the gold-medal-winning Indian team at the 2023 Asian Games, where he made his T20I debut. His ability to contribute in multiple phases makes him a valuable all-round option for Lucknow Super Giants.
