Biography
Fast and furious! That’s what our Raftaar Bhaiyya is renowned for in world cricket for his ability to bowl at a ferocious speed. Born in Ashington in Northumberland, Wood idolised fellow Englishman Steve Harmison growing up and took a liking towards fast bowling from a young age.
A hit-the-deck bowler with the ability to clock 150 kmph consistently, Wood took giant strides in county cricket that earned him a place in the English side for the first time in 2015 for the series against New Zealand. The speedster soon became a consistent part of the England side across formats despite battling injuries from time to time.
In the last couple of years, Woody has been a consistent performer for England, especially in the white-ball format and has been a part of two World Cup-winning squads for his country in 2019 and 2022.
Refreshed and raring to go, our Raftaar Bhaiyya is all set to steamroll the opposition this season with his searing pace, especially after missing out on the previous edition due to injury.
Our LSG Brigade would hope for Wood to make a Mark this season and help our side eclipse newer heights in the 2023 edition of the IPL.
