Biography
Hooda is a batting all-rounder who was born and brought up in Rohtak, Haryana and plays domestic cricket for Baroda. The 27 year-old made his first-class and List A debut in 2014 and has been a vital cog in the wheel for the side. The all-rounder is an asset who is top-class in all the departments.
He made his IPL debut in 2015 for Rajasthan Royals. After his dominant show in IPL he was also appointed as a captain of the Baroda Ranji team at the start of the 2016-17 season. He has got the experience of all 3 formats under his belt and he has played for teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab.
Deepak was named in the Indian cricket team for the first time in November, 2017 for the T20 series against Sri Lanka but had to wait to play his first game for the country. He made his international debut for India on 6th February, 2022 and within a week he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants in the auction. He put on a show in IPL 2022 and became the third leading run-scorer for the Super Giants. He secured 451 runs last season with an average of 32.21.
Hooda’s good run with the bat also helped him to get a chance in the Indian T20 side for the series against Ireland. He went on to score his maiden T20I hundred in the game of the series. He was also a part of the Indian team in ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
