TATA IPL 2026: LSG vs RCB report - Bison, Prince help get the winning feeling back!!!
Lucknow Super Giants secured a thrilling nine-run win over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in our tenth match of TATA IPL 2026, much to the delight of the LSG Brigade and the dugout.
Put in to bat first, Mitchell Marsh unleashed absolute carnage right from the word go. Our Bison raced to a blistering half-century in just 20 balls, with a staggering 48 runs coming purely in boundaries - three fours and six towering sixes.
Once he got going, there was simply no stopping him. Marsh continued his onslaught to bring up a sensational century in just 49 deliveries, the fastest ever for Lucknow Super Giants in the tournament’s history, setting the tone for a commanding total.
In the middle overs, the left-handed duo of Nicholas Pooran (38 off 23) and Rishabh Pant (32* off 10) ensured the momentum never dipped. Their clean striking and intent kept the scoreboard ticking, even amidst multiple rain interruptions, as we posted a formidable 209/3.
Defending a revised target of 213 under the DLS method, the Super Giants struck early and hard. Mohammad Shami set the tone with a wicket in the very first over, dismissing Jacob Bethell, before Prince Yadav followed it up with an absolute peach to send Virat Kohli back, igniting celebrations.
Although Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal stitched a brief recovery, the boys responded with three quick wickets post the 10-over mark to regain control. Just when the game seemed to tilt, Shahbaz Ahamad produced a crucial breakthrough, dismissing the dangerous-looking Tim David after a rapid 40 off 17 balls.
With 19 runs to defend in the final over, Digvesh Rathi held his nerve under pressure to seal a terrific win.
After a challenging run, this victory feels all the more special. The team will look to build on this momentum when they face Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, May 10, in Chennai.
