TATA IPL 2026: MI vs LSG preview - Refresh button hit, time to turn it around
Returning on the road after a seven-day break, the Lucknow Super Giants will square off against the Mumbai Indians on May 4 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match will start at 7.30 PM IST.
Our last outing against the Kolkata Knight Riders turned out to be a nail-biting thriller, where Mohammad Shami smashed a maximum off the final ball of the 20th over to take the match into the super over, not before Mohsin Khan’s mesmerising 5/23 in the first innings, which also happened to be the first five-wicket haul of TATA IPL 2026.
In the Super Over, the Knight Riders prevailed to clinch the two points.
Taking the positives from that game, coupled with a fresh roadmap ahead, the Rishabh Pant-led side will aim to turn it around in the remaining six league phase matches, beginning with the Mumbai Indians on Monday.
Talking about our head-to-head record against our upcoming opponents, the Super Giants boast a 6-2 advantage, giving us an edge going into the clash.
During the 2025 season, we emerged victorious by 12 runs at the Ekana, thanks to an all-round performance led by Mitch Marsh (60 off 31) and Aiden Markram’s (53 off 28) fifties in addition to Digvesh Rathi’s 1/21 in four overs. However, MI won the reverse fixture.
As things stand, we occupy the bottom spot in the points table, with four points in eight matches. However, all is not over. Despite the situation, our boys are focused more than ever to give it their all and make an all-out attempt to qualify for the playoffs.
LSG Brigade, this encounter needs your loudest cheers. Let’s bring ‘em to Wankhede and make it an electric atmosphere for our boys, backing them at every moment!
