Lucknow Super Giants went down by five wickets against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in our fifth match of TATA IPL 2026.

Asked to bat first, the Super Giants found it challenging to build partnerships through the innings. Mitchell Marsh led the scoring with a 32-ball 40, while Ayush Badoni contributed a brisk 38 off 24.

Mukul Choudhary also added a useful 39 off 28 deliveries. However, regular fall of wickets meant the innings closed at 146 in 20 overs.

Defending the total, the Super Giants made an encouraging start with the ball. Prince Yadav struck early, removing Phil Salt in the second over to put the opposition under initial pressure.

Then, in the middle overs, Avesh Khan delivered a disciplined spell, picking up the key wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli while conceding just 23 runs in his four overs.

Despite these efforts, Royal Challengers Bengaluru maintained control and completed the chase in 15.1 overs, securing the victory.

The Super Giants will now look to reassess and regroup, focusing on improving key areas as we travel to New Chandigarh for the PBKS clash on Sunday, April 19.
