The Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders in our third fixture of TATA IPL 2026. The match-up will take place on April 9 at 7.30 PM IST, scheduled to be staged at the Eden Gardens.

Following a tough outing in our opening game, the Rishabh Pant-led side bounced back in style with a terrific five-wicket win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Mohammad Shami stole the spotlight with the ball courtesy of an astonishing spell of 2/9 in four overs, including 18 dot balls. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant anchored the chase with an unbeaten 68 off 50, ably supported by Aiden Markram’s 27-ball 45, to steer the team home.

Praising the team’s effort and his match-winning knock, our skipper said, “I think Shami bhai, Avesh, Rathi and everyone contributed really well, especially Siddharth coming in today. Trust your preparation and just take on the game.

“What ends well is all well. We always say that, but at the same time, I know I’ve been preparing really well and giving my 200%. I just let my bat do the talking. When you can stay at the last and finish the match, it’s definitely a good plus for us.”

Talking about our upcoming assignment against KKR, the Super Giants have a 4-2 head-to-head record ahead of Thursday’s clash, highlighting our dominance in the past.

The previous meeting in the 2025 campaign saw us emerge triumphant by four runs in a nail-biter. Mitchell Marsh’s cracking 48-ball 81 alongside Nicholas Pooran’s 87* off 36 helped the Super Giants post a daunting total of 238/3, which was defended under thrilling circumstances.

All in all, with the season up and running, the Super Giants have arrived in the City of Joy, aiming to make it two victories in a row. Now, it’s time to rally behind the boys as they look forward to bringing the A-game yet again, much to the delight of every Lucknow Waasi!
