TATA IPL 2026: CSK vs LSG preview - Focus on back-to-back wins as we head to Chennai
Riding on the back of a confidence-boosting win, the Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings in our 11th match of TATA IPL 2026 on Sunday, May 10, at Chepauk. The match will start at 3:30 PM IST.
The victory in our last match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru saw opener Mitchell Marsh return to his lethal best, smashing a scintillating 56-ball 111 to win the Player of the Match award and become the player to hold the record for the fastest century for the Lucknow Super Giants.
In the bowling department, Prince Yadav extended his purple patch, bowling yet another brilliant spell to register 3/33 in his four overs, including a cracking delivery to dismiss Virat Kohli in the second over.
“It was a good game for us for sure. For the whole team, it means a lot. We have been trying a lot of things. There has been some good luck and some bad luck, but I'm really happy to get a win. It was a tough call [to go with Rathi over Shahbaz]. Rathi was the right match-up for sure against Shepherd. He trusted himself and got the job done for the team. There have been some good things as a bowling unit, and I am looking forward to that,” said Rishabh Pant in the post-match presentation.
Ahead of the CSK fixture, the Rishabh Pant-led side is aiming to make it two wins in a row and continue to remain in contention for a Playoffs spot.
The head-to-head record favours the Lucknow Super Giants, as we lead with 3 wins in six matches versus the Chennai Super Kings. The fixture at Ekana in the 2023 season concluded with no result.
As things stand, Chennai Super Kings have won and lost five apiece in their 10 matches, occupying the fifth spot in the points table. Meanwhile, the Lucknow Super Giants have won three of the 10 matches played and will be looking to climb the points table with a win in the upcoming encounter.
All said, it's time for the LSG Brigade to make its presence felt in Chennai on Sunday. Your unwavering support brought the best out of our boys against RCB, and we’re craving for the same kind of backing in two days and for the remainder of the tournament!
