Two Lucknow Super Giants players - Nicholas Pooran and Shamar Joseph - are part of the 15-member West Indies at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by the West Indies and USA in June.

For Nicky P, it will be his third WT20 after the 2021 and 2022 editions. The wicketkeeper-batsman is known for his big-hitting prowess and regarded as one of the finest T20 batters around.

Since making his international debut ion 2016, Nicky P has been an integral part of the West Indian setup in limited-overs cricket. He even captained the side briefly between 2021 and 2022.

With 1848 runs in 88 T20I matches, Pooran is also the second-highest scorer for the West Indies in the format. Only Chris Gayle, with 1899 runs in 79 matches, has scored more for the Windies.

Pooran averages a healthy 25.66 in T20Is while striking at an impressive rate of 134.69. The Trinidad batter has particularly been in a rich vein of form over the past year.

The West Indian dynamo has been fantastic for LSG in IPL 2024, accumulating 305 runs in 10 matches at an average of over 60 and strike rate of over 160.

Shamar Joseph, meanwhile, will look to impress at his maiden T20 World Cup. The pacer shot to the limelight after a fantastic debut Test series against Australia Down Under.

The 24-year-old is yet to make his debut in the T20I format but did manage his IPL debut this season, when he played for LSG against KKR at the Eden Gardens.

We wish both Nicky P and Joseph all the best for the T20 World Cup!
