For the 6th game of the season, the Super Giants travel to the Royals’ home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, where cricketing action is set to return after nearly 4 years.

The last encounter between the two teams resulted in a loss for LSG as RR beat them at Brabourne Stadium. This season poses similar challenges, especially when you consider the red-hot form the Royals have been in the past few games. However, with a well-balanced squad in good form, our Super Giants will fancy themselves to win the game and go to the top of the points table.

Super Giants to watch out for

Despite the loss against the Punjab Kings in our last game, LSG has a lot of positives to consider. The biggest of them is the return to runs for skipper KL Rahul. Setting the tone for the inning with a solid 74 runs, KL will look to continue his good form against Rajasthan Royals as well.

Yudhvir Singh Charak had a dream debut with the ball in hand (3-0-19-2) as he dismissed Atharva Taide and the dangerous Prabhsimran Singh to rattle the top order of Punjab Kings. With the experienced Avesh Khan and Mark Wood, this deadly trio is sure to rattle the opposing batting lineup.

Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran will be expected to light up the SMS stadium with their big hitting prowess. Having displayed their match-winning ability against RCB, they will look to strike fear within the RR bowling ranks.

Analyzing our opponents

Just like their last season, Rajasthan Royals have started IPL 2023 with a bang. At the top of the order, they have Jos Buttler firing on all cylinders. The opener has 3 fifties from the 5 games that he has played. He has 204 runs in total to his name at a strike rate of 163.

Skipper Sanju Samson hit a blistering 60 off 32 in their last game against Gujarat Titans in what proved to be a match winning innings. With Shimron Hetmyer finishing things off in style, the Royals batters are going through a purple patch.

Boasting of the deadly spin bowling trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Adam Zampa and the current purple cap holder Yuzvendra Chahal, RR has one of the best bowling lineups suited to exploit their home conditions.

Head-to-Head

Lucknow Super Giants have faced Rajasthan Royals twice in their IPL history and are yet to register a win against them.

The first game was played in Wankhede Stadium, where the Royals managed to pull off a thrilling win by defeating LSG by a slender margin of 3 runs. Chahal picked 4 wickets in that game to turn the tide in his team’s favour.

In the second game however, RR had a much easier task as they registered a 24-run victory over LSG, who failed to chase the target of 178 runs.

Hence we can expect some extra fire within our squad as the Super Giants step out with a score to settle.
