Lucknow Super Giants’ Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Arshin Kulkarni and Abdul Samad were some of the standout performers for their respective sides in the second round of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

Representing Bengal, our star all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed finished with magnificent figures of 9/94 in two innings to guide his team to a dominant 141-run victory over Gujarat in an Elite Group C match at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old left-arm spinner bamboozled the Gujarat batters as he returned with brilliant figures of 6/34 to bundle them for 167 in their first innings after Bengal posted 279.

Chasing a target of 327 in the fourth innings after Bengal declared their second innings at 214/8, Shahbaz continued to torment the visitors to help them bowl Gujarat out for 185.

Having finished with figures of 3/60 in the second innings, Shahbaz was later adjudged the Player of the Match for guiding Bengal to its first-ever win over Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy.

Elsewhere, our batting all-rounder Yuvraj Chaudhary hogged the spotlight after he slammed an impressive half-century against Railways in an Elite Group C clash at the Kaushiki Cricket Ground in Jim Corbett, Ramnagar.

Batting at No.4 for Uttarakhand, the 24-year-old southpaw scored a crucial 92 runs to help them post 398 in their first innings after Railways managed 333. Yuvraj’s half-century was laced with three fours and five maximums.

In the second innings, Railways were 85/1 before the match ended in a draw.

Our talented youngster, Arshin Kulkarni, also played a pivotal role in guiding Maharashtra to a comprehensive 144-run win over hosts Chandigarh at the Sector 16 Stadium.

Opening the innings, the 20-year-old right-handed batter smashed a swashbuckling half-century off just 55 balls to provide the visitors with a great start. Featuring eight fours and one maximum, Arshin’s fifty helped Maharashtra post 313 in their first innings.

After Maharashtra bundled out Chandigarh for 209, Arshin later contributed with 31 runs in the second innings, and in the process, established a quick-fire 73-run opening stand with Prithvi Shaw to set the foundation for their emphatic victory.

Another of our star all-rounders, Abdul Samad, delivered a match-winning knock for Jammu & Kashmir against Rajasthan in an Elite Group D encounter at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.

Batting at No.5, Samad hammered 76, including seven fours and two sixes, to power Jammu & Kashmir to 282 in their first innings after they bowled out Rajasthan for 152. The visitors were skittled out for 89 in their second innings as Jammu & Kashmir won the match by an innings and 41 runs.
