Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been roped into Australia’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the United States and the West Indies in June.

Stoinis, known for his powerful hitting and effective medium-pace bowling, has been key player for LSG in the IPL 2024 where he has scored over 300 runs in 10 matches and picked up four wickets at an economy of eight runs per over. 

His unbeaten 124 against the Chennai Super Kings a few days ago is the highest individual score in a chase in the IPL. 

With 59 T20I matches under his belt, Stoinis is one of the most experienced players in the format for Australia. He averages around 30 in T20Is with the bat, striking at over 145. With the ball, Stoinis has picked up 29 T20I wickets with an economy of 8.64. 

Stoinis was named Australia's T20I Cricketer of the Year for 2023. He was also a key part of Australia’s maiden T20I World Cup triumph in 2021. 

Stoinis plays for Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20 and is one of the sought-after players around the globe as well.
