After stunning the defending champions CSK with our gazab andaz in the previous two matches, our well-rounded squad is poised to inflict a similar result on table-toppers Rajasthan Royals at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium this Saturday. The evening fixture kicks off at 7:30 PM IST.

Rajasthan Royals have one foot in the IPL 2024 playoffs with seven wins and one loss from eight games and are no easy opponents. But the form our boys, especially Marcus Stoinis, displayed at Chepauk, expect us to keep the two points with us at home and march forward.

We are fourth on the table with five wins and three losses and a big win could even see us overtake third-placed SRH in the standings.

The form of Stoinis in the middle, skipper KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock at the top and Nicholas Pooran in the late overs make us one of the most feared batting line-ups in the IPL.

In the bowling, Krunal Pandya has been our most economical bowler, going under eight runs per over despite rolling the arm in the tough overs.

While the suspense around Mayank Yadav's return keeps building up, the rest of the bowling line-up has been excellent and instrumental in our five wins so far.

News from the Royals camp

The Royals possess a dangerous batting line-up that includes the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and an in-form Riyan Parag. Just like Stoinis, Jaiswal will take on the field on the back of an impressive century that came against the Mumbai Indians.

In the bowling, an experienced Trent Boult will lead the pace battery with Indian talents Avesh Khan and Sandeep Sharma in the mix. The spinners in the RR line-up include Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. Chahal is one of the top wicket-takers this season with 13 scalps.

LSG vs RR head-to-head

We lost our season-opener against them by 20 runs in Jaipur and that took the head-to-head record 3-1 in the Rajasthan Royals’ favour. Nicky P and KL Rahul scored brilliant half-centuries but the target of 194 proved to be a stiff one after we lost regular wickets in the chase.

The two results in the IPL 2022 did not go our way but an all-round performance from Stoinis (21 off 16 and 2/28) helped us win by 10 runs after scoring 154/7 last year.

Stats that matter
