Our captain Rishabh Pant is hopeful that the team can turn things around in the remaining three games in order to squeeze into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs.

With 10 points from 11 games, we need to win our remaining three matches to keep our IPL 2025 playoffs hopes alive.

“The dream is still alive. If we can win the next three matches, we can definitely turn around and do amazing things,” Pant said at the post-match presentation.

However, our skipper was disappointed that we conceded 236 runs against Punjab Kings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday.

Despite best efforts from our bowlers, the Kings rode on Prabhsimran Singh’s 91 off 48 balls, along with contributions from captain Shreyas Iyer (45), Shashank Singh (33) and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis (30) to post 236/5 in their 20 overs.

“Definitely too many runs. When you drop crucial catches at the wrong time, it can hurt you badly. We thought it would do more, but we did not pick the length right at the start. But that is part and parcel of the game,” Pant added.

Chasing a huge target, Ayush Badoni kept us in the hunt with a blistering 74 off just 40 balls, while Abdul Samad smashed a 24-ball 45, however, it wasn’t enough as we fell short by 37 runs in Dharamsala.

After a disappointing result, we will be heading back home and will aim to return to winning ways against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at our fortress, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, on Friday.
