RPSG Group-owned IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants have doubled down on their efforts to develop grassroots cricket in Uttar Pradesh, as they hosted an open masterclass for young cricketers and prospective students on 16th July with LSG’s budding star Ayush Badoni and Spin Bowling Coach Pravin Tambe in attendance. The LSG academy is the start of a series of efforts planned by RPSG Sports whose vision is to “develop a nation of world-class sportspersons”.

In a session that lasted more than 3 hours, the attendees gained invaluable cricketing knowledge and also got a chance to work on their skills in front of their heroes, and could also experience first-hand the world-class facilities at the LSG Academy, which is run in
partnership with CFS (CricFitSport), UK.

Talking about the facilities, Ashish Baluja, Founder of CFS, mentioned “We have spent enormous time and energy to build best-in-class facilities for the players to utilise whilst providing a safe and conducive environment for growth. We are glad to confirm that we now have developed an excellent ecosystem providing the best of facilities, coaches and equipment along with a hybrid pathway for players to train and play at higher levels both in IPL and England in our very new exchange programme.”

When asked about the coaching staff, Sr. Coach, Mahtab Ali mentioned “I have coached at various locations within India, Dubai, Singapore and London, the talent that I am seeing at LSG Academy is really getting me excited. With the support of both LSG and CFSPORT, I sincerely think we can produce quality players and help them achieve their career
aspirations.”

The excitement on the day was palpable, as one student, Dev Sethi exclaimed, “I am extremely proud to be part of the LSG Academy where I get trained on all my cricketing skills effectively. All coaches are well equipped and knowledgeable and help me improve session
by session. Perfect atmosphere, great facilities and outstanding coordination among players". Another student Chaman Tomar proclaimed, "I am an aspiring medium-pace bowling all-rounder wanting to play at the highest level. I have a committed fitness trainer
helping me to improve my fitness which in essence will help increase my bowling speed. I have also been provided ground facilities to use even of outside usual academy hours.”

The LSG Academy is looking to cement itself as one of the leading academies at producing world-class cricketing talent in India. Through regular interactions and facetime with LSG players & coaching staff, the academy looks set to achieve its goal in the years to come.
