George Linde named as replacement for injured Wanindu Hasaranga for TATA IPL 2026
South Africa’s left-arm spinner George Linde is ready to make his way into the Lucknow Super Giants squad at the expense of Wanindu Hasaranga, who is now ruled out due to an injury.
Bought at his base price of INR 2.0 crore in the mini-auction held in December last year, the Sri Lankan all-rounder was all set to play his fifth TATA IPL campaign before an unfortunate setback had its say.
Talking about George Linde’s T20 exploits, the experienced 34-year-old has featured in more than 200 matches in the shortest format of the game, racking up 2,700+ runs in addition to 200+ wickets at an economy of 7.42.
He now joins our potent bowling unit alongside the likes of Digvesh Rathi and Manimaran Siddharth, among other spinners, bolstering the spin bowling options.
George Linde, welcome to the Lucknow Super Giants! Let’s get started and taste success together.
On behalf of the Super Giants Family, we wish Wanindu Hasaranga a speedy recovery!
