We registered our fourth win of TATA IPL 2026 with a commanding seven-wicket triumph over the Chennai Super Kings on May 15 at home, much to the delight of the dugout and the Lucknow Super Giants Brigade alike.

On the victorious evening, Akash Singh set the tone right from the word GO, bowling tight lines and blazing past the CSK top-order to finish with 3/26 in his four overs.

The 24-year-old first got the better of Ruturaj Gaikwad in the fourth over before dismissing Sanju Samson in the final over of the powerplay. Thereafter, he sent Urvil Patel packing to leave the visitors reeling at 52/3.

In addition to Akash’s fierce spell, his celebration after each wicket caught the attention. The left-arm pacer removed a chit from his pocket to show it to the fans, with “#Akki on fire - Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game” printed on it.

Talking about the outstanding performance and the celebration, Akash said, “I was very happy, but when you don't play in the IPL, you have to push yourself. I stuck to my task of working hard (when not playing) and today it worked for me. We knew how they dominated in the previous games and I was focussing on bowling to their weaknesses with my strength.

“You come to the IPL not to play but to dominate. You need to have that mindset, irrespective of whether you play or not. I like dismissing big batters and that is my mindset. (On his celebratory chit) This gives me motivation - nothing else. And what can give me motivation to make me perform better, I will try to do it.”

Praising Akash's exceptional performance, Dr. Sanjiv Goenka said, "Akash, three crucial wickets tonight. Well done. The note says it all, you showed exactly how to take those wickets in a T20 game. Keep at it, Akki. Proud of you."

The fact that Akash Singh was featuring in his first match of the season made the outing even more special. Our Super Giant showed no signs of rustiness and delivered a brilliant performance.

Akash, we couldn’t be any prouder! The resilience you showed on the field was second to none. Let’s keep ‘em coming and we’re manifesting more such spells in the upcoming games!
